ISO: Our Customers Rule! - South Texas Alliance for Regional Trade

Port San Antonio is ISO 9001:2008-certified in Quality Management.

So what does that mean?

ISO refers to the International Organization for Standardization. The body, based in Switzerland, has been around for more than 60 years and is recognized worldwide for establishing high operational standards that can be applied across multiple industries around the world, including manufacturing, logistics, engineering, risk management and many others.

Being certified in the Quality Management category assures Port customers that our organization observes best business practices which are independently audited. Each of our departments has established processes under ISO to ensure that we are guided by high standards and strive to continually improve the quality of our work in all areas, including our services in construction, property management, logistics and business development.

Adhering to ISO processes is of particular importance as the Port continues to grow and attracts new customers. Our certification reassures those businesses that our work is monitored and measured by standards recognized around the world.

And the Port is receiving high marks. In addition to passing several independent audits, our employees routinely survey customers-internally and externally-at the conclusion of jobs great and small.

Like many other strategies the Port has underway, ISO is part of an integrated effort. The growing efficiency in our internal processes ensures that we keep a sharp focus on customer service in everything we do-anticipating and meeting customers’ needs as they, too, continue to grow.
