Corpus Christi, Texas – Port Corpus Christi is experiencing major global diversity, from new companies locating from Austria, Switzerland, Italy and China. Growth and developments stemming from the boom of Eagle Ford Shale add up to over $15.5 Billion. Due to the remarkable growth throughout Port Corpus Christi, Port Commissioners recognized the need for planning for the future of the port and the surrounding region.

On Tuesday, June 10, upon recommendation by the Chair of the Port Corpus Christi Commission, Judy Hawley, Commissioners approved an agenda item for the formation of three ad hoc committees, allowing Commissioners to participate in planning the port’s future and ensuring sustainability.

New committees include: Organizational Structure Committee Chaired by Al Jones and assisted by Richard Borchard and David Engel; Asset Management Committee chaired by Charlie Zahn and assisted by Barbara Canales; and New Business Development Committee chaired by Rick Valls and assisted by Barbara Canales.
